2016 Toyota 4Runner can take you where you want to go

For over 40 years, car dealerships throughout Canada have been selling the Toyota 4Runner SUV to buyers looking for a vehicle that handles and looks good both on and off the road.

And Toyota's newest offering, the 2016 4Runner SUV, combines the brand's legendary toughness but with bigger tires, a heavy-duty suspension and aggressive design features sure to take you wherever you want to go.

Engine power

Like many new cars today, the 4Runner features a standard 4.0 liter V6 engine that generates 270 horsepower and 278 pounds per foot of torgue. That means you will never fall short of power whether you driving in the mountains, on the flats, or passing an 18-wheeler on the highway. You can also use the 4Runner to tow up to 5,000 pounds, so you won't have to worry about leaving anything behind when you go on an off-road adventure.

Safety features

The 2016 Toyota 4Runner is equipped with a variety of features designed with your safety in mind. Standard hill assist control helps to keep the vehicle from rolling backward when you're switching from the brake to the accelerator on a steep incline; skid plates underneath the vehicle help to protect the engine, front suspension and fuel tank; and the SUV comes equipped with a full-size spare tire ventilated disc brakes.

The 4Runner is all about traction control and offers two different 4-wheel drive systems, depending upon the model you select. Its locking rear differential system evenly distributes engine power to both rear wheels, so they both move at the same speed, even if one of them is in the air.

The 4Runner's eight standard airbags and side-impact door beams add an extra level of protection for both you and your passengers.

Onboard technology

The 4Runner comes equipped with an integrated navigation system that gives you turn-by-turn directions, as well as a high-definition predictive traffic and Dopplar weather overlay -- all displayed on an in-dash 6.1 inch high resolution screen.

Blutooth technology also gives you hands-free phone capability. A 15-speaker audio system is also among the standard features you'll find in the 4Runner.

Seating and storage

There's plenty of seating and storage in the 4Runner for everybody. Its second-row seats fold flat, leaving you with room for 88 cubic feet of cargo, or 25 feet when not folded down.

Third row seating means you've got space to accommodate up to seven passengers comfortably.

Other features

All 4Runner's feature heated and ventilated front seats, LED taillights, projector beam headlights and a Smart Key System with push-button starting capability. And, of course, 4Runner's are constructed out of the highest quality materials, including SofTex and perforated leathers. You may want to visit Eastway Toyota for more info and insights.
