Comparing the New Jaguar F-Type SVR to the F-Type R

Jaguar has been on the radars of many car enthusiasts thanks to its slick and powerful F-Type R. However, dealerships around the world are gearing up for the release of a new Jaguar that may put the F-Type R to shame. The New 2017 F-Type SVR offers more power, less weight and a stylish new redesign. It may just be the Jaguar that you've been waiting for.

More Power

The SVR offers even more power than the F-Type R. The Jaguar team was able to push 575 horsepower out of a 5.0-liter, supercharged V8 motor. This gives the SVR about 25 horsepower more than the F-Type R. The SVR can also produce 516 pounds of torque, which is around 14 more pounds of torque than the F-Type R. despite all of this power, the SVR stays glued to the ground thanks to a carbon fiber spoiler.

Light Weight

While the extra power helps, it might be the lighter weight that makes all of the difference. Jaguar shed 55 pounds off the SVR by using 20-inch alloy wheels. This improvement alone makes a huge difference in the way the SVR handles. You can shed another 46 pounds by opting for the optional carbon ceramic brakes. This drop in weight and more power allows the SVR to reach 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds. It also sports a top speed of 200 mph.

Loud and Proud

Jaguar didn't go out of its way to make this powerful car without giving it the exhaust system it deserves. The SVR is outfitted with a titanium Inconel exhaust system. The result is a loud, almost barbaric, sound that comes out the end of the SVR. The noise does a great job of telling others around you just how much power the SVR is packing.

No Manual Transmission

The only downside of the car is that there's no manual transmission. However, Jaguar tries to make up for this with its re-tuned QuickShift. While this transmission was also on the F-Type R, it has been re-calibrated for faster performance. The bigger tires on the car also give it better traction, so most people aren't going to notice the lack of a manual transmission. The end result is a car that offers a race-car-like performance but is built for the streets.

If you find yourself in a Jaguar car dealership in the near future, don't be shocked to see the new 2017 Jaguar F-Type SVR sitting there. This supercharged coupe might not fit into everyone's budget, but the ones that are able to afford it are in for a real treat.Comparing the New Jaguar F-Type SVR to the F-Type R.
